A man is in critical condition following a serious incident in Harlow, leading to an attempted murder and kidnap investigation
Harlow: A teenager’s been arrested after a serious incident in the town. It all kicked off when a 17-year-old was reportedly forced into a blue car on Terminus Street around 2:15 PM on January 7.
Later that day, around 4:20 PM, police got a call from the ambulance service about a man in his 30s with life-threatening injuries at Staple Tye Shopping Centre. They think the kidnapping and assault are connected.
Emergency services quickly closed the shopping centre, and paramedics worked hard to treat the victim on the scene. He was then rushed to the hospital, where he’s now in serious but stable condition.
Since the investigation began, Essex Police have been busy. They arrested a 19-year-old man from Harlow in Chatham, Kent, early on January 8. He’s being held on suspicion of kidnap and attempted murder.
Sergeant Simon Roissetter reassured the public, saying they don’t believe there’s any wider threat. Officers will be around Staple Tye to keep an eye on things while they continue their inquiries.
If anyone has information, especially dashcam footage of the blue vehicle, they’re encouraged to reach out to Essex Police. You can report online or call 101 anytime.
