A man has been jailed after driving at police cars while carrying a large stash of heroin in Glasgow
Glasgow: A guy named Frank Donaghy, 49, just got himself into a heap of trouble. He drove straight at two unmarked police cars while packing a serious stash of heroin worth around £96,000. Talk about reckless!
This all went down on April 9, 2024, in Drumchapel. Unfortunately, two police officers got hurt and had to be taken to the hospital. When they searched Donaghy’s car, they found the heroin, which is a pretty big deal.
Fast forward to today, and Donaghy was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow. He’s looking at three years and nine months behind bars for drug supply and dangerous driving. Plus, he’s banned from driving for nearly seven years. Ouch!
Detective Superintendent Steven Elliot made it clear that Donaghy’s actions put both officers and the public at risk. He emphasized that there’s no room for this kind of crime in our communities. The police are serious about tackling the illegal drug trade.
They’re also urging anyone who knows something about drug activity in their area to reach out to Police Scotland or Crimestoppers. Every bit of info helps in keeping the streets safer.
