Teesside: A man has sadly lost his life after a crash on the A19 involving a pedestrian and two vehicles. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.

The accident happened on the northbound side, not far from the A689 on-slip. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 8:55 PM on Saturday, January 4.

Cleveland Police reported that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicles involved were a Vauxhall Corsa and a Vauxhall Movano van. The police are keeping the man’s family in their thoughts during this hard time.

They mentioned that a formal identification process is still pending. The A19 was closed in both directions for about six hours overnight, which must have been a hassle for drivers.

Images from the scene showed officers investigating, using torches to look around the area. If anyone saw anything or has dash cam footage, they’re encouraged to reach out to Cleveland Police.

They’re particularly interested in anyone who might have seen a man in dark clothing walking along the A19 or nearby roads between 5:30 PM and 8:55 PM on that Saturday.
