A man has been charged after a Woolwich stabbing left a teenager critically injured, while a 17-year-old girl was also arrested.
Woolwich: A man is in trouble after a stabbing incident that left a teenager in critical condition. This happened on Shooters Hill on January 6. Just to clarify, this is a different case from the tragic stabbing of 14-year-old Kelyan Bokassa in the same area.
Oquaine Simpson, a 19-year-old from Forest Hill, was arrested on January 9. He’s facing serious charges, including attempted murder and having an offensive weapon. He’s set to appear in court soon.
Alongside him, a 17-year-old girl was also taken into custody. She’s suspected of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Quite a serious situation, right?
The stabbing occurred around 4:20 PM on Prince Imperial Road, which led to Shooters Hill Sixth Form College shutting down for a bit. They did reopen the next day, though.
After the attack, the victim was in critical condition but has since stabilized. This incident was just one of two stabbings in Woolwich within a couple of days.
On January 7, Kelyan Bokassa was tragically killed while heading to see his social worker. He was attacked on Woolwich Church Street, and the search for his attacker continues.
As of now, Mast Quay, a nearby residential area, remains closed off. It’s a tough time for the community.
