A man was arrested on suspicion of drug influence following a five-vehicle crash on the A1 near Kenton Bar, but no serious injuries were reported.
Kenton Bar: This morning, a man got arrested after a five-car crash on the A1 Western Bypass. It happened around 8 am, and thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.
Northumbria Police confirmed it was a pretty big mess with five vehicles involved. They’re looking for anyone who might have seen it or has dash cam footage.
According to the police, they got the call about the collision at around 7:30 am. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and it looks like everyone walked away without major injuries.
They arrested a 26-year-old guy right there on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He’s in custody now.
