A man and woman face charges linked to the tragic death of Owen Baugh in a motorbike accident on the M62
Manchester: A couple is in court over a tragic motorbike crash. Steven Naylor is accused of causing Owen Baugh’s death through dangerous driving. His partner, Lisa Naylor, is charged with perverting justice.
Owen was riding his Suzuki on the M62 when he collided with a black Audi A4. This happened in the early hours of April 25, 2021. Sadly, he was rushed to the hospital but didn’t make it.
Fast forward nearly four years, and both Steven and Lisa have been charged. They appeared in Liverpool Crown Court recently. Steven, 40, only confirmed his name and age. He didn’t enter a plea for the serious charges against him.
Lisa, 39, pleaded not guilty to her charge. She allegedly claimed Steven was unfit to avoid facing road traffic charges. They’ve been released on bail and will return to court on March 31, with a trial set for November 10.
Owen’s family shared a heartfelt tribute after his passing. They described him as kind-hearted, intelligent, and someone who always included everyone. He had a unique personality and made sure those around him felt happy and safe.
His family emphasized how much he loved his friends and family, saying he will be deeply missed. Owen was truly a gentleman, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Owen.
