A 48-year-old man is in court following a stabbing that left three people injured in Glasgow’s Argyle Street
Glasgow: A 48-year-old man is set to appear in court after a serious incident on Argyle Street. This happened early on Tuesday, January 7, and it’s being treated as a stabbing.
Reports came in about a man and a woman who were seriously hurt. The man, 49, and the woman, 48, were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 76-year-old man was found injured in a nearby property on Blantyre Street and was also taken to the hospital.
All three individuals were arrested for serious assault. Police Scotland confirmed that they are treating the situation as a stabbing that took place in a property on Blantyre Street.
This isn’t the first time the 48-year-old man has been in trouble; he was previously arrested for robbery and is now facing charges related to this serious assault. He’s expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 8.
On Tuesday, Argyle Street was closed off between Bunhouse Road and Sauchiehall Street while forensic teams investigated. The roads have reopened, but police are still present in the area.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with information or concerns to speak with the officers on the scene. A police spokesperson mentioned that detectives are continuing their inquiries following the disturbance.
They received a report around 1:10 AM about the injured man and woman on Argyle Street. Emergency services quickly arrived, and both were taken to the hospital.
In addition, the 76-year-old man found on Blantyre Street was also hospitalized. All three were arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
Road closures were in effect on Tuesday, but the area has since reopened. Officers are still around to gather more information.
