Firefighters quickly contained a blaze at a Cork industrial site, damaging several vehicles but thankfully causing no injuries
Cork: Firefighters were busy this evening tackling a fire at a commercial site. The call came in around 6:30 PM when thick smoke was spotted at the Sarsfield Court Industrial Estate.
Six fire units from Cork City Fire Brigade rushed to the scene. Luckily, they got the fire under control pretty quickly. Sadly, five trucks and a car were lost in the flames, but no one was hurt.
Photos from the scene show firefighters using powerful hoses to keep the fire in check. It looked pretty intense, with several vehicles caught in the blaze.
Victor Shine from the fire brigade mentioned that the fire was contained to a yard, so there was no structural damage. The team is just wrapping up and making sure everything is safe.
Interestingly, this was the second fire in County Cork today. Earlier, a nightclub and some apartments in Kinsale were damaged in a fire that started around 6 AM. Thankfully, no injuries were reported there either.
