A key road in Solihull is shut for emergency repairs due to severe flooding
Solihull: A major route is closed right now because of flooding. The A452 Collector Road is blocked off northbound between Birmingham Road and the Solihull boundary. This happened on Monday after some heavy rain and snow.
They’re working on emergency repairs near Chelmsley Wood. The road should be back open by Wednesday, but they haven’t said exactly when yet.
Solihull Council shared the news on social media, letting everyone know about the closure. They said the road would be closed until 6 PM on Wednesday due to the flooding and apologized for any trouble it might cause.
On top of that, there was a car stuck in floodwater on Green Road in Hall Green. The heavy rain and snow really messed up rush hour for a lot of folks on Monday. The Environment Agency even issued 16 flood warnings, with eight of them in Birmingham.
In another incident, two cars got caught in floodwater on the A4091 near Middleton Hall in north Warwickshire. Coleshill Fire Station warned everyone to only travel if it’s absolutely necessary because the conditions are pretty dangerous with all the snow.
One car was completely surrounded by water on Green Road after the River Cole overflowed. So, if you’re in the area, be careful out there!
