Roadworks are back, causing major overnight closures on key routes this week
Surrey: So, guess what? Roadworks are back in full swing as we kick off the second week of 2025. After a little break for the holidays, National Highways is shutting down some major roads overnight for essential work.
Starting as early as 9 PM, certain routes in Surrey will be closed. They’re still working on the Wisley Interchange, which feels like it’s taking forever. Plus, there’s a full weekend closure on the A3 coming up later this month.
And it’s not just Surrey. The M25 near Heathrow is also getting some love, which means travelers should brace for delays. Link roads from the M25 to the M23 will be closed too, affecting folks heading to Gatwick Airport.
Some of these overnight closures might not reopen until 10 AM the next day, especially on Saturday mornings. So, if you’re planning to head out early, keep that in mind, especially near Wisley.
Oh, and with the weather being a bit dodgy this week—think sub-zero temps and maybe even some snow—closures could take longer to clear up. So, stay tuned for updates on that!
