The police got the call around 4:30 AM on Saturday. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, the man was already deceased.

They’re asking anyone who might have seen something or has dashcam footage to step forward. If you have info, you can call 0161 856 5757 and mention incident number 438 from January 4.
The M61 was closed for most of Saturday, finally reopening around 7 PM. It’s a tough situation, and the police are doing their best to piece things together.
In their statement, they confirmed the time and location of the incident, emphasizing that there are no suspicious circumstances.
They really want to hear from anyone who might have been in the area at that time. Every little bit helps.
