Motorists on the M6 are facing significant delays, with warnings to allow extra time for their journeys due to a breakdown.
West Midlands: Drivers on the M6 were hit with some serious delays during the Monday morning rush. They were told to expect an extra hour on their journey because of a breakdown.
Two lanes were shut down on the southbound side at Junction 8 for the M5. National Highways mentioned that a lorry was stuck in lane two and couldn’t be moved just yet, so help was on the way.
They posted on X, saying there were 60-minute delays ahead, so folks should plan for extra travel time. It’s always a hassle when things like this happen.
According to Inrix, a traffic monitoring site, the backup stretched all the way back to Junction 10a (M54). They reported that travel time was around 50 minutes, with lanes one and two closed due to the broken-down lorry.
West Midlands Roads also chimed in, warning about delays on the approach. They mentioned that local impacts could be felt at M6 Junction 9 and Junction 10, affecting nearby roads.
