Drivers in South Wales should prepare for M4 road closures causing delays this week leading up to Christmas
Cardiff: There are some road closures happening on the M4 this week, and they might throw a wrench in your travel plans across South Wales.
These closures are due to environmental work and maintenance at spots like Bridgend, Port Talbot, and Swansea. So, if you’re thinking of hitting the road for Christmas, keep this in mind.
From December 16 to 22, the M4 will have several overnight closures. For instance, the westbound stretch between Junction 36 and 37 will be closed until December 18 from 8 PM to 6 AM.
Also, the offslip at Junction 38 will be closed overnight from December 19 to 20 for maintenance. And don’t forget about Junction 41, where the entry slip road will be closed from December 17 to 20.
These closures are all happening overnight, so if you’re driving late, you’ll need to find a detour. Just a heads up, the same goes for Junction 42 and Junction 47, which will also see closures during those hours.
