Swansea City manager Luke Williams chose to stay away from the dressing room during the team’s win over QPR, allowing captain Matt Grimes to lead.
The team really pulled together, scoring three goals and bouncing back from a couple of tough losses. Williams praised Grimes for his leadership, saying the performance really reflected his influence.
Even though it might seem odd, Williams has done this before. He talked to Grimes earlier in the week and felt it was best to let the captain lead the way on match day. He mentioned that sometimes you just know when to step back and let the players take the reins.
In the end, Swansea climbed to 10th in the Championship, breaking a three-match winless streak at home. It looks like Williams’ strategy paid off!
