Cardiff: The Lord’s Taverners Wales has had a fantastic year, raising over £110,000 in 2024. This was revealed during their annual Christmas lunches at the Marriott Hotel.

These festive events took place on December 6 and 13, bringing together 536 guests for a night of fun. There were performances from some great acts like Mark Simmons and Micky P Kerr.

Chairman Andrew Gibson welcomed everyone, while Rod Woodward kept the evening lively as the compère. The raffles and auctions really helped boost the fundraising total.

All the money raised will support programs for disadvantaged and disabled young people, which is just awesome. The Christmas lunches were part of a series of fundraising events throughout the year.

They also held a spring lunch, a summer fashion show, and a cookery luncheon, which together raised over £9,300. Plus, the Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club brought in at least £4,000.

Another highlight was the sold-out Carols at The County Club event, which added another £4,500 to the total. Andrew Gibson expressed his pride in the fundraising efforts, saying it’s been a fantastic year for the charity.

He emphasized that these funds will help many young people reach their potential and develop important life skills. It’s all about making a difference!
