Residents in Coventry are rallying for a new 20mph speed limit to enhance safety
Coventry: Residents are really stepping up to demand a lower speed limit in their area. They want a new 20mph limit on Bannerbrook Park, and they’ve even started a petition.
After a poll showed over 80% support on social media, locals are asking the council to take action. They’ve set up a petition on the council’s website to push for this change.
The petition calls for a safety assessment of the estate, which used to be the Massey Ferguson site. They want the council to consider lowering the speed limit for everyone’s safety.
They’re hoping to gather enough signatures to get the issue discussed by the councillors. The petition states: “We the undersigned petition the Council to lower the speed limit to 20mph on Bannerbrook Park.”
It also urges the council to work with residents to conduct a traffic safety assessment, put up clear 20mph signs, and run awareness campaigns to make sure drivers stick to the new limit.
