Merseyside faces freezing temperatures and icy conditions as Liverpool FC prepares for a match against Accrington Stanley this Saturday
Merseyside: It’s another chilly morning in Merseyside, with temperatures dipping below freezing. This follows a week of snow and icy weather that’s been a bit of a hassle.
The Met Office has been busy issuing weather warnings for snow and ice, which have really thrown a wrench in things like road travel, schools, and even flights. Last weekend was particularly rough with an amber warning due to heavy snowfall.
And it’s not over yet! Last night, temperatures hit -3C, and freezing fog is expected to stick around today. The forecast says it’ll be dry with some sun, but don’t be surprised if you encounter fog in rural areas.
It’s still going to be pretty cold, with light winds and icy patches forming later. The high for today is just 3C. With Liverpool FC playing Accrington Stanley at 12:15pm, expect travel disruptions as fans head to Anfield.
