A Linthorpe man sold drugs to support his addiction and was caught with cocaine worth £3,000
Linthorpe: A guy named Paul French got himself into a real mess. He was caught dealing drugs, specifically cocaine, to fund his own addiction. Can you believe it?
So, the police were watching him go in and out of a place in Middlesbrough. They finally stopped him and found a stash of cocaine worth about £3,000, along with some scales, cash, and burner phones. Not a good look!
In court, the prosecutor laid it all out. This happened last July, and Paul tried to dodge the cops but ended up struggling with them. He had cash on him too, about £120, and two mobile phones. Not exactly a smart move.
When they interviewed him, he didn’t say much. He had a history, with 31 convictions for 82 offences, including drug-related ones. Back in 2021, he even got a four-and-a-half-year sentence for robbery. Yikes!
His lawyer tried to defend him, saying he was in a tough spot after a breakup and fell back into old habits. He admitted to supplying drugs but claimed it was mainly to support his own habit. It’s a sad story, really.
In the end, the judge gave him a 38-month prison sentence. Hopefully, this time he can get the help he needs.
