Leo Ross, a 12-year-old boy, shared his fears about the woods where he was tragically killed while cycling home from school
Birmingham: Leo Ross, just 12 years old, often took a shortcut through The Shire Country Park in Hall Green. Sadly, he was fatally stabbed there on Tuesday.
His friends said he had mentioned feeling uneasy about the area, calling it “sketchy.” It’s heartbreaking to think he was just trying to get home from school.
On that fateful day, Leo was cycling home when he was attacked. Despite being airlifted to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. They’re also looking into his involvement in assaults on elderly people in the days leading up to Leo’s death.
Locals have expressed their shock, noting that the park has seen a rise in anti-social behavior. Leo was just minutes from home when he was attacked.
His friend Jack Pugh shared how Leo often used the park as a shortcut, but he always felt uneasy about it. Jack was devastated to learn of Leo’s passing.
Tributes have been pouring in for Leo, with family members describing him as a kind and gentle soul. A touching memorial has been set up at the scene.
As the investigation continues, the community is left mourning the loss of a bright young boy whose life was tragically cut short.
