Leicestershire: So, it’s been a bit of a mess with the buses lately. Flooding has caused a real headache for commuters. Over a dozen bus routes are affected, and it’s all due to some heavy rain and sleet that hit the area overnight.

The police have even said that the A50 from Junction 22 of the M1 is totally impassable right now. Three major bus companies—Arriva Midlands, Kinchbus, and Centrebus—have had to cancel or reroute their services. It’s a bit of a scramble for everyone trying to get around.

Routes in Leicester, Loughborough, Melton, and Market Harborough are all feeling the impact. If you’re planning to travel, it’s best to check your route before heading out.

Arriva Midlands has made some changes, like their Service 49 to Fleckney, which is now only going to Wigston Harcourt. The 84 Lutterworth service can’t stop in Cosby due to flooding, and the X3 and X31 are taking a detour via the A6, skipping Great Glen.

Centrebus has had to suspend several routes, including LC1, 55, 26, and 24. They mentioned that the flooding is made worse by the heavy snow we’ve had. There are multiple flood alerts in place, including some red alerts where flooding is expected.

So, if you’re out and about, keep an eye on the latest updates. It’s a good idea to stay informed, especially with all these service changes happening.
