A Leeds woman faces potential prison time after violating a restraining order by visiting a couple’s home, leading to her arrest.
Leeds: A woman named Larna Jones, 36, is in hot water for breaching a restraining order. She showed up at a couple’s home, which she wasn’t supposed to do. This all started back in July 2023 when she was convicted of stalking and was ordered to stay away from them.
Fast forward to December 12, and she found herself at their doorstep again. The couple let her in because she had nowhere else to go, but things quickly went south. They ended up arguing, and when the man asked her to leave, she refused. He had to call the police, and she was arrested after hanging around for about an hour.
In court, it came out that Larna has a pretty lengthy criminal record with 12 previous convictions for 17 different offenses, including stalking. Her lawyer mentioned that she struggles with mental health issues, which might have played a role in her actions. The judge noted that she had also been dealing with alcohol and drug problems.
Judge Batty decided to put the case on hold for four weeks. He’s unsure about sending her to prison since it might not help her situation. She could end up back on the streets without any support after serving time, which isn’t ideal. It’s clear she’s got some serious issues to work through.
