A Lancashire couple has successfully moved into their dream home while keeping their previous property, thanks to a helpful scheme.
Blackburn: A couple from Lancashire just made a big move into their dream home without the hassle of selling their old place first. How cool is that?
Chris and Laura Spence made the leap in November 2024. They were living in a cozy three-bedroom semi-detached house in Church, near Accrington. After tying the knot, they wanted more space to start a family.
Chris, who works in telecoms, shared that their old home was great for just him but not ideal for a growing family. They realized it was time to find a place that fit their future plans.
Thanks to their career advancements and a good valuation of their old home, they were in a solid position to buy a new one. They found a lovely four-bedroom house on the Riven Stones estate in Blackburn, using Taylor Wimpey’s Easymover scheme.
This scheme is a lifesaver! It lets buyers secure a new home before selling their old one. Taylor Wimpey’s team even helps with the sale of the existing home and covers some estate agent fees.
Laura, who works in customer service, said the Easymover scheme took a lot of stress out of the process. They loved the perks, like having their estate agent fees paid and getting help with the deposit.
Things moved quickly for them. Within an hour of listing their old home, they had two viewings lined up. They sold it in just a week and reserved their new home two days later!
The whole journey, from deciding to use the Easymover scheme to getting the keys, took only three months. They were amazed at how smooth and fast everything went.
Riven Stones is a beautiful development with 225 homes, ranging from three to five bedrooms, priced between £259,995 and £399,995.
Chris mentioned that their first visit to Riven Stones felt just right. The area has a lovely village vibe, and being close to nature is a big plus for him.
They were impressed with the layout of Riven Stones, featuring lots of green spaces and good-sized gardens. Plus, the distance between homes gives a nice sense of privacy.
They were looking for a peaceful, picturesque place to live, and the views from their new home are just stunning. The easy access to the motorway and local amenities is a huge bonus for both of them.
