Salford: Big changes are coming! This week, plans for a massive apartment block in Stockport and hundreds of homes in Bury were announced.

In Bury, the East Lancs Paper Mill Cricket Club will be relocated to make way for 400 new homes. Morris Homes Limited is behind this project, which also includes Tower Farm in Radcliffe.

Meanwhile, Stockport is set to get a new 20-storey tower block with 245 homes. They’ll be tearing down the old Victoria House office building as part of a bigger redevelopment plan.

In Bury, there’s also a proposal to replace an outdated mosque with a larger facility that will include a mortuary, library, and classrooms. The current Islamic center has been a community hub since 1999.

Over in Wythenshawe, a £500 million investment is on the horizon. The council is promising a new culture hub, food hall, and 1,750 new homes, including affordable options.

Littleborough is getting in on the action too, with plans for 630 solar panels on a warehouse roof. This is part of a push for more sustainable energy solutions.

And let’s not forget Salford, where a new mayoral development zone could create over 5,000 jobs and bring in millions through business rates. Exciting times ahead!

Stockport is also looking to build two new residential blocks, which could add hundreds of apartments to the area. The plans include community spaces and rooftop gardens.

Lastly, Tameside is considering a dog walking field where owners can book slots to exercise their pets safely. It’s designed for dogs that need a little extra space.
