Katya Jones is smitten with Newcastle after sharing a breathtaking hotel view on social media during the Strictly Come Dancing tour
Newcastle: Katya Jones was totally wowed by the view from her hotel room. She and the Strictly Come Dancing crew just rolled into town for their live tour.
Katya, a long-time pro on the show, was back in action this autumn. She teamed up with Wynne Evans, an opera singer and radio host. They were seen as underdogs for the Glitterball trophy but surprised everyone with some fantastic performances early on.
Even though they had to leave the competition after a dance-off win against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu, Katya and Wynne are now part of the Strictly live tour. They kicked things off in Birmingham and made their way to Newcastle on Wednesday.
As she got ready for the first of three shows at the Utilita Arena, Katya couldn’t resist snapping a pic of the stunning Tyne Bridge and Quayside view from her hotel. She shared it on Instagram, asking her followers to name the bridge.
Shayne Ward also shared his excitement about Newcastle, posting a video of himself on the Swing Bridge and expressing how much he loved the city’s vibe.
After their opening night on Wednesday, Katya, Shayne, and the rest of the Strictly stars will perform both a matinee and an evening show at the arena on Thursday.
