ITV’s new thriller Playing Nice features a star-studded cast and a gripping story about switched-at-birth children
Cornwall: A new psychological thriller is set to premiere this January. ITV’s Playing Nice dives into the lives of two couples who find out their sons were switched at birth.
This miniseries raises a tough question: should they keep the kids they’ve raised or go after their biological child? It kicks off on Sunday, January 5, with four episodes lined up.
Based on a best-selling novel by JP Delaney, the show is adapted for TV by Grace Ofori-Attah, known for her work on Malpractice. Helen Perry, ITV’s drama commissioner, describes it as an enthralling thriller with a complex moral dilemma.
Viewers will be hooked and left wondering, “What would I do?” The series features a fantastic cast, including James Norton from Happy Valley and Jessica Brown Findlay from Downton Abbey. Let’s take a look at the cast and their roles.
James Norton plays Pete, the worried dad who discovers the shocking truth about his son. Niamh Algar stars as his wife, Maddie. James McArdle plays Miles, who also learns about the switch and wants custody of both boys. Jessica Brown Findlay takes on the role of Miles’ wife, Lucy.
Other cast members include Cara Mahoney as an A&E doctor, Posy Sterling as Keira, Lucy Phelps as Suzy, Phillippe Spall as Martin Swale, and Akbar Kurtha as DS Jay Chopra.
