Bushey: This is where Kyle Clifford, the man behind a horrific triple murder, tried to hide. After killing his ex-girlfriend Louise, her sister Hannah, and their mother Carol, he thought he could escape the law.

The tragedy unfolded on July 9, when the three women were found dead at their home. It all started with a distress call from Hannah, which led police to the scene.

A massive manhunt kicked off, and Clifford was eventually found at Lavender Hill cemetery in North London. He was discovered after he shot himself with a crossbow, and armed officers quickly surrounded the area.

Photos from the scene show the intense search, with officers going through the underbrush where he was hiding. They even used a heat-seeking camera to track him down, which is pretty wild.

After being rushed to the hospital for surgery, he was questioned by police. In court, it came out that he used a crossbow to kill both Louise and Hannah, while Carol was brutally stabbed multiple times.

When police arrived, they found Hannah still alive, with a crossbow bolt in her chest. Louise was found tied up, having been shot. Clifford, just 26, pleaded guilty to the murders and to holding weapons.

The family of the victims, including racing commentator John Hunt, expressed their devastation, saying it’s hard to put into words what they’re feeling.

Louise had just started her own dog grooming business, and Hannah was a talented beautician. It’s heartbreaking to think about their dreams cut short.

Clifford, who had a military background, appeared in court via video link, pleading not guilty to a separate rape charge involving Louise. His trial for that is set for March.

In the wake of this tragedy, the Home Office is looking into stricter regulations for crossbows. There’s currently no registration system for owning one, which seems a bit concerning.

While it’s illegal for anyone under 18 to buy or own a crossbow, they can be easily purchased online. Carrying one in public without a good reason could land someone in serious trouble.
