Gloucestershire: There’s an exciting project in the works that could change the game for outdoor fun in the countryside. Imagine a playground with geothermal pools and play areas, all nestled in the beautiful Cotswold Way.

This cool idea, called Stroud Waters, is being led by Amy Morris, who loves cold water swimming. She’s got plans for two pools that will use natural plants to keep the water clean and safe.

One of the pools will be heated by geothermal energy, so you can enjoy it all year round. The other pool will change with the seasons, giving you a different experience every time you visit.

So far, they’ve raised about 71% of the money needed for a feasibility study, which is a great start. Local farmer Adam Knight is even offering to donate the land for this project and wants to turn an old barn into changing rooms and a sauna.

There’s also going to be a fun play area for kids and a space for wellness activities, plus plenty of seating for everyone to relax. Amy is super excited about it, saying it’s ambitious but has the potential to be a huge success.

But first, they need to hit their fundraising goal of £36,000 to get the feasibility study done. This study is really important to figure out if there are any bumps in the road ahead.

Once they complete the study and everything looks good, they can start building. Amy wants to make sure they have everything lined up before presenting it to the council.

So far, 252 supporters have chipped in £26,275, which is fantastic progress. If they can fully fund the study and it goes well, they hope to submit plans to the council this summer. Fingers crossed, they might even have the pools open by 2026!
