On April 14 last year, Budge, 62, hit Sandra with his car, then drove over her again. He admitted to the assault in court, and it’s just heartbreaking to hear.

Before the attack, he tried to grab her phone and force her into his car. It’s like something out of a horror movie. He even drove back to run over her again after she fell to the ground.

They had been married for about 33 years and have two adult kids. It’s sad to think how things got to this point. The prosecutor shared that Sandra had moved out just a month before the attack.

On that day, she parked near her new flat when Budge showed up. He tried to talk to her, but things escalated quickly. A family member arrived and yelled at him, which made him lash out even more.

After hitting her, he drove off, leaving her lying there. Thankfully, help arrived, and she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. She had damage to her lungs and liver, along with broken ribs and ankles.

She stayed in the hospital for quite a while before moving to rehab. Meanwhile, police tracked Budge down after he was found in a river. He was rescued and arrested after being treated.

In court, Budge expressed deep regret for his actions. The judge called it an extremely serious offense and has deferred sentencing while a background report is prepared. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved.
