Police cordoned off an area in Norwich after workmen found suspected human bones while digging for cables
Norwich: So, there’s been a pretty wild discovery in the city center. Workmen were digging to lay some fiber optic cables when they stumbled upon what looks like human bones.
This all went down on Monday night around 8:59 PM, right near St Andrew’s Church and Bridewell Alley. As soon as they found the bones, they called the police, who quickly set up a cordon to check things out.
Now, the bones are believed to be human, but they’ll need some forensic analysis to figure out how old they are. A spokesperson from Norfolk Police mentioned that this testing could take a few weeks.
They might even bring in the Norfolk Archaeological Society to dig a little deeper into the site’s history.
Indi Williams, the Student Union president at Norwich University of the Arts, happened to be passing by and saw the police taking photos. She said it was pretty crazy to see so many bones just lying there.
Another student, Abi Harverson, shared her thoughts too. She mentioned she’s never seen a forensic team in action before, only on TV, and she loves the history of Norwich, which is why she’s studying there.
