Bellway Wales contributes £350 to support adults grieving suicide losses through SOBS
Cardiff: A housebuilder has stepped up to help those dealing with the loss of loved ones to suicide. Bellway Wales recently donated £350 to Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS), a charity that provides crucial support.
This donation is part of Bellway’s commitment to tackling mental health issues, not just within their company but also in the wider community. SOBS has around 470 volunteers across the UK, offering various forms of support.
Rachel Singers-Mulqueen, who works as a PA at Bellway Wales, is also a volunteer at the Cardiff branch of SOBS. She shared her personal story, explaining how she turned to SOBS after her mother passed away by suicide in 2008.
Rachel found the support from SOBS invaluable during her tough times. She mentioned how talking to others who had similar experiences helped her feel less isolated in her grief.
Not only does Rachel help run the Cardiff branch, but she also advocates for mental health at work. She expressed pride in working for a company that prioritizes mental health and provides training for employees.
Daniel Shone, head of sales at Bellway Wales, praised Rachel’s dedication to SOBS and emphasized the importance of the charity’s work for those coping with tragic losses.
Mental health awareness is a key part of Bellway’s vision for responsible practices, showing their commitment to making a positive impact.
