Ebbw Vale: A house builder has stepped up to help light up the town for Christmas. Persimmon Homes East Wales donated £1,000 to support the festive lights in Blaenau Gwent.

This donation is part of their Community Champions fund, which aims to back local initiatives. The money will help make Ebbw Vale’s high street more colorful during the holiday season.

The donation was made at the Winter Wonderland event just before Christmas, which is a lovely touch. Persimmon is also busy building homes at the Carn-y-Cefn site, where they’re putting up 265 new homes along with play areas and sports pitches.

Victoria Williams, the sales director for Persimmon Homes East Wales, expressed her happiness about collaborating with the council for the Christmas lights. She mentioned that it’s a joy to contribute not just for their customers but for everyone in the town.

Councillor Sue Edmunds from the council also shared her appreciation for the donation. She highlighted how important it is when local businesses and the community come together to create a festive atmosphere.

She hopes the lights will lift spirits and make the town look truly festive this Christmas. Persimmon’s Community Champions fund gives away £48,000 each year to various organizations across Wales, supporting many local causes.

Some recent beneficiaries include Kidz R Us and Willowtown Community Primary School, showing their commitment to the community.
