Grimsby: A shocking incident unfolded when a woman was brutally attacked with a gardening tool. It all started late at night when a fight broke out in the street. People were using all sorts of weapons, including a machete and even a frying pan.

The woman ended up with a fractured skull after being hit with the blade of the gardening tool. It was a revenge attack, and it left her in a terrible state. Ashley Hutchison, the attacker, admitted to wounding her with intent.

CCTV footage showed Hutchison going wild, smashing car windows with a machete. He was so aggressive that the handle broke off! In a panic, he grabbed a gardening tool and struck the woman. The sound of the impact was horrifying.

After the attack, Hutchison realized the gravity of what he had done. He was heard saying, “S**t. I’ve killed her. Please get up. Ring an ambulance.” He even tried to help her, but it was too late. The people she came with just sped off, leaving her behind.

In court, the prosecutor expressed disbelief that her companions would leave her like that. The woman needed emergency surgery that lasted eight hours and spent two months in the hospital recovering.

In her victim impact statement, she shared how her life has changed drastically. She now suffers from anxiety and daily headaches. Her dreams of becoming a process operator are shattered, and she feels like a different person.

Her children are also affected. Her younger son is scared she might have a seizure, while her older son stays close to her all the time. The woman struggles to communicate and has even lost her ability to drive due to the risk of seizures.

She used to be confident and outgoing, but now she lives in fear, even just walking down the street. Despite being told she’s lucky to be alive, she doesn’t feel that way. Still, she’s grateful to be here for her family.

The court heard how the violence started earlier that night at a pub. Hutchison had been trying to be a peacemaker but ended up in a chaotic situation. After learning that his home had been targeted, he went after the people he thought were responsible.

Hutchison was sentenced to six years in prison, with four years to be served before he can be released. The judge made it clear that he intended to cause serious harm. A restraining order was also put in place to keep him away from the victim for ten years.
