Leicestershire: This morning, a gas leak in Lutterworth led to some homes being evacuated. Fire crews rushed to the scene to handle the situation.

The fire department got the first call about the leak around 11:21 AM. It was coming from a mains pipe located between two houses on Baker Street.

Firefighters from Lutterworth and Southern stations showed up, along with a hazardous materials officer. They checked 20 nearby properties before calling in Cadent to help.

Two homes were evacuated as a precaution, but thankfully, the leak has been stopped now.

A Cadent spokesperson mentioned that their engineers have taken care of the leak and are working with emergency services to ensure everything is safe.
