A hillwalker was rescued after suffering a leg injury in freezing conditions on a Scottish mountainside
Stirling: A walker had a rough day on the hills when they hurt their leg. It happened on Ben Venue, near Loch Katrine, and it was pretty chilly out there.
Emergency services got the call on Thursday afternoon. The Lomond Mountain Rescue Team jumped in to help out. They knew the situation needed quick action.
The rescue team wrapped the injured walker in a bivvy bag to keep them warm while they carried them down the hillside. It was freezing, so every bit of warmth counted.
Once they reached the bottom, the Scottish Ambulance Service was waiting. They took the walker to the hospital for further care.
Photos from Lomond MRT showed the hillside covered in a fresh layer of snow, making the rescue even trickier.
A spokesperson from Lomond MRT said they were grateful for the help from Police Scotland and the ambulance crew. They also appreciated the kind folks who stayed with the injured walker until help arrived.
