Leek High School will shut down tomorrow as icy conditions pose safety risks for students and staff alike
Leek: So, guess what? Leek High School is closing tomorrow because of this crazy cold snap. They announced that students should just stay home to stay safe.
Today was supposed to be a regular day after the kids came back for the new term. But after a brief opening, they had to shut down again. The school shared the news on social media this afternoon.
In their post, they said, “School is closed due to inclement weather. If you need school, please contact a member of staff. Leek High School will be operational for staff tomorrow and we can help if needed.”
It’s not just Leek High; a bunch of schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire are also dealing with delays because of the snow that hit on Monday. The freezing temperatures made everything super slippery.
The Staffordshire Moorlands got hit pretty hard. Schools like Westwood College, St Bartholomew’s Primary, and a few others in Leek are closed today for safety reasons. Better safe than sorry, right?
