A six-month-old baby girl from Wigan tragically lost her life in a car park accident
Wigan: A six-month-old baby girl named Sophia Kelemen sadly passed away after a car crash in a multi-storey car park in Tenby, Wales. This heartbreaking incident happened last Thursday, January 2.
Sophia was quickly taken to the hospital with serious injuries but tragically died the next day. A man named Flaviu Naghi, 33, from Leigh, has been charged with causing her death through dangerous driving, along with other offenses.
Since the accident, friends and family have started fundraising efforts to help cover the costs of Sophia’s funeral and repatriation back to Romania. Her father, who is from Romania, wants to bring her home for burial as part of his healing process.
Sophia’s aunt, Adriana, shared her grief on a GoFundMe page, expressing disbelief that she had to write such a post. She described how a normal day turned into a nightmare for their family.
Adriana mentioned that Sophia suffered severe injuries, including a broken pelvis and brain damage, which ultimately led to her passing. The family is trying to raise funds to ease their burden during this unimaginable time.
Another friend has also set up a fundraiser to help with the costs of bringing Sophia back to Romania. They emphasized the need for support, both emotionally and financially, for Sophia’s parents during this tragic time.
Flaviu Naghi appeared in court and is set to return to Swansea Crown Court on February 7. The police have confirmed that this is an ongoing investigation and have urged the public not to speculate on the details.
