Harrow residents face significant road closures this January due to utility works, with diversion routes available to ease traffic disruptions
Harrow: This month, Harrow is dealing with some serious road closures. They’re doing major utility work, and it’s going to affect a lot of drivers.
Some closures are overnight, which is good, but others have been dragging on for months. So, if you’re driving around, be ready to find a new route.
According to the council, there are three big road closures happening in January. They’ve also shared the diversion routes to help folks navigate the mess.
First up, Buckingham Road in Harrow-on-the-Hill is closed. It’s been shut since December, and it’s not opening up until March 9. So, if you usually use that road, you’ll need to find another way.
Next, Kymberley Road is also closed overnight from 8 PM to 6 AM until March 13. They’re doing utility work there too, so keep that in mind if you’re out late.
Lastly, Harrow View has been under construction since June for gas main renewals. This project is in eight phases and is expected to last until May. So, it’s a long haul.
While all this is going on, the council suggests using diversion routes like Greenhill Way and Station Road to avoid the closures.
There are also some other roadworks happening in January, like on Kenton Lane and Station Road, which might slow you down a bit.
So, if you’re driving around Harrow this month, just be patient and plan ahead. It might take a little longer to get where you’re going.
