Hannah Hunt fought for her life during a brutal attack that claimed her family, desperately reaching out for help before succumbing to her injuries
Bushey: It was a tragic scene when police arrived at the Hunt family home. Hannah was found alive but gravely injured, a crossbow bolt in her chest.
Last summer, the family faced a horrific attack. John Hunt, a BBC racing commentator, lost his wife Carol and daughters Hannah and Louise in a brutal incident. Kyle Clifford, the attacker, has pleaded guilty to their murders.
During the chaos, Hannah managed to text a friend for help, saying she was tied up and urging them to call the police. She showed incredible bravery, even calling 999 to report the attack.
Despite her injuries, she provided her address before the call was cut off. Prosecutor David Burns shared that Hannah expressed fear for her life during the call.
When officers arrived, they found Hannah near the door, injured but alive. Inside, they discovered the bodies of her mother and sister, both victims of the attack.
Witnesses described the night as chaotic, with screams echoing through the neighborhood. One resident recalled hearing a woman scream, followed by armed police rushing in.
The aftermath has left John Hunt and his surviving daughter, Amy, in deep grief. Amy, who wasn’t home during the attack, has been a source of strength for her father.
In a heartfelt tribute, John spoke of the overwhelming support they’ve received, expressing how comforting it has been during this unimaginable time.
