Torfaen’s mini-gritters are back in action just in time for the snowy weekend ahead, ensuring safer roads for everyone.
Torfaen: The mini-gritters in Torfaen are up and running again, just in time for the snowy weather expected this weekend. It’s a relief since they had broken down earlier.
On Thursday night, the council shared that both mini-gritters, which are essential for those narrow roads, were out of commission. But good news—they’ve been fixed!
With snow and ice on the way, it’s crucial to have those gritters ready. A council spokesperson mentioned that they usually have one working and a backup, but both had issues.
They couldn’t get them repaired overnight, which meant some busy streets missed out on gritting. Thankfully, they managed to cover some routes with a larger gritter.
However, the narrowest roads, like those in Griffithstown and Upper Cwmbran, still need extra caution. The temperatures are dropping, so be careful out there!
All main roads and bus routes have been gritted as usual, so at least that’s a plus. Stay safe and warm this weekend!
