Cardiff: So, there was this wild scene at a Greggs shop where staff had to lock themselves in. A guy named Sudan Murray, 43, pulled a hammer on them after he tried to steal a sandwich and a drink. Can you believe that?

Apparently, when the staff confronted him, he got all aggressive and started hurling racial slurs. It was so intense that they felt they had no choice but to lock the doors and call the police. I mean, who wouldn’t be scared in that situation?

When the police finally caught up with him, he didn’t go down easy. He started throwing punches at the officers, and they ended up with some minor injuries. It’s just crazy how one person can cause so much chaos over a sandwich.

In court, it came out that Murray has a pretty long rap sheet with 14 previous convictions. He pleaded guilty to a bunch of charges, including theft and racially aggravated harassment. The judge decided to let him serve his sentence in the community, which seems a bit lenient given the circumstances.

One of the staff members said they now feel unsafe confronting shoplifters, worried that someone might be carrying a weapon. It’s a sad state of affairs when people can’t even feel safe at work.
