Liverpool: A grandad and his brother got caught up in a serious drug operation. Anthony Edwards, 41, and his younger brother Vincent were importing drugs from the Netherlands. They used a secret messaging app called EncroChat to communicate.

Things took a turn when they were identified as “Air Ear” and “Generic Bull.” After being unmasked, they faced some serious time behind bars. Vincent was heavily involved in the drug trade and got a hefty sentence of over 16 years.

Anthony, on the other hand, was more of a middleman, organizing the distribution of drugs. He was sentenced to 11 years after admitting to conspiracy charges. The court heard how they were moving large amounts of cocaine and heroin, which could have fed many addictions.

The judge pointed out how drugs ruin lives, including their own. It’s a tough situation, especially with family members dealing with serious health issues. The brothers thought they were safe behind the encrypted app, but it turns out, they were wrong.
