Blackwood: So, I recently reached out to the Caerphilly County Borough Council. I was speaking up for the traders and residents since the winter fair got canceled. I asked if they could hold off on the car parking charges until after the New Year to give everyone a little boost.

The Council got back to me, saying it wouldn’t be fair to just cancel parking charges for one town. They mentioned that a recent review suggested keeping things equal across the area. They promised to work on making the next Blackwood event a hit, though, which is nice to hear.

Honestly, I find it pretty disappointing for Blackwood and its folks. A little goodwill gesture would have really gone a long way this time of year.

Cheers,

Councillor Kevin Etheridge
