The popular Thai restaurant chain is set to open its first venue in Liverpool after overcoming previous application hurdles
Liverpool: Exciting news for food lovers! Giggling Squid is finally making its way to the city. After a couple of hiccups with their applications, they’re ready to set up shop.
This popular Thai restaurant chain is opening its first spot in the North West at 23-25 Castle Street, where the Point Blank shooting bar used to be. It’s about time, right?
The planning committee gave the thumbs up today, so it looks like it’s third time lucky for them. There was a bit of confusion last summer when they pulled their application, but now it’s all systems go.
Giggling Squid is joining other eateries like Pho and Elif, which are also moving into the area. The building is a five-storey, Grade II listed gem, right at the corner of Sweeting and Castle Streets.
They’ll be using both the lower ground and upper ground floors for the restaurant. The entrance will be accessible, making it easy for everyone to enjoy their delicious Thai tapas.
Joseph Pugsley, the agent for Giggling Squid, mentioned that they’re known for their tasty small dishes. They plan to serve food until 10:30 PM every day, which is pretty cool.
They’re looking to open from 10 AM to 12:30 AM on weekdays and have a bit shorter hours on Sundays. Plus, they’ll be serving alcohol from 10 AM, which is great for brunch or a late-night bite.
And here’s the cherry on top: they’re planning to create around 30 jobs, both full-time and part-time. So, it’s a win-win for the community!
