A man in Gateshead forced his way into his ex’s home with a knife, causing fear and distress, leading to a lengthy prison sentence.
Gateshead: A guy named Jordan Spedding, 29, really crossed the line. He barged into his ex’s house with a six-inch knife, and it was terrifying.
He had already caused trouble before, like throwing a paving slab through her window. Then, in January last year, he came back wearing a balaclava and gloves.
It was the early hours, and the poor woman was asleep. When she opened the door, he pushed his way in, demanding to know if a man was there.
Can you imagine? He even tried to kiss her! Thankfully, she threatened to call the police, which made him leave, but he didn’t go far. He hung around outside, acting like he’d lost his keys.
Then he knocked on the door again and kicked it before finally leaving. Later, he sent her a message threatening to blow up her house. What a nightmare!
In court, the victim said this whole ordeal made her feel scared and unsafe in her own home. She just wants to feel safe again.
Spedding’s lawyer said he felt remorseful and wanted to change his life. He pleaded guilty to several charges and got a seven-and-a-half-year sentence.
It’s a tough situation, but at least he’s facing the consequences of his actions.
