Paul, in his 50s, died unexpectedly on January 3 in Tampa, Florida, where he had been living for several years.
He was a well-known GAA player for St Finians GAA Club in Swords before moving to the States, where he worked in construction.
The fundraiser aims to cover various costs related to his passing, like medical bills, repatriation, and funeral expenses. It’s a tough time for his family.
John Flynn, who set up the GoFundMe page, shared a heartfelt message about Paul’s sudden loss. He described Paul as a kind and loving person who brought joy to everyone around him.
Since launching on Wednesday, the fundraiser has already raised over €40,000, surpassing its initial goal of €35,000 in less than a day.
Any extra funds will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, which has been a great help to Paul’s family during this hard time.
