North Wales: Lloyds is closing many branches, including one in Mold. They plan to shut down nearly 140 branches across the UK.

This includes 61 Lloyds, 61 Halifax, and 14 Bank of Scotland locations. The closures will happen between May 2025 and March 2026.

All employees from the closing branches will be offered new roles. After the closures, Lloyds will have 386 branches left, Halifax will have 281, and Bank of Scotland will have 90.

The Halifax branch in Mold is among those closing. Lloyds says fewer people are visiting branches, with transactions down by about 48% in five years.

More customers prefer online banking and mobile apps. Lloyds reports over 20 million customers use their apps for banking.

Customers can still access banking through community bankers, other branches, and over 11,000 Post Office locations.
