Frome Town Council encourages residents to voice their opinions at upcoming meetings on key issues like council tax and housing developments
Frome: As the Town Council gets ready for its first meeting of 2025, they really want residents to join in and share their thoughts on important topics. This includes everything from the council tax for 2025/26 to housing projects happening in the area.
Every month, Frome Town Council holds a full meeting. You can attend in person at the town hall or join online via Zoom. They also have regular Planning and Oversight Committee meetings. Anyone from the public can come along and check out the agenda, which is posted at least a week before each meeting.
Cllr Steve Tanner, the council leader, mentioned how much they appreciate residents’ input. He said they’d love to see more people come out to share their ideas, which really helps shape the decisions made on their behalf.
At the first full council meeting of 2025, they’ll discuss the council tax precept, a hot topic for many. Plus, they know folks have strong opinions about housing developments in and around Frome. Residents are encouraged to attend the planning committee meetings throughout the year. While FTC doesn’t make the final planning decisions, they’ve been effective in advocating for the community in the past.
They also have an oversight committee that meets regularly to keep the council on track with its goals and review policies. The upcoming council meetings are on January 15, March 12, and February 12, while planning meetings are set for January 9 and 30, and February 27. The oversight committee will meet on January 29 and March 19.
Some meetings will need you to book a spot if you want to attend in person, and this will be noted on the meeting listing on the FTC website. To learn more about upcoming meetings, check out the agendas, and sign up if needed, visit bit.ly/FTC-council-meetings.
