Joseph Coghill will walk from Kent to Glastonbury, raising funds for charities in memory of DJ Jackmaster, who passed away last year.
Broadstairs: A close friend of DJ Jackmaster is walking over 200 miles to Glastonbury. Joseph Coghill is doing this in memory of the beloved DJ.
Joseph grew up in Insch and lived in Aberdeen. He’ll start his walk from Broadstairs in Kent to Glastonbury Festival this summer.
He aims to raise money for two charities that were important to Jack. Jack Revill, known as Jackmaster, sadly died in Ibiza on October 12, 2024.
Joseph called Jack a “bright light” who impacted many lives. Jack passed away at just 38 due to complications from a head injury.
In 2022, Jack ran the Edinburgh Half Marathon, raising funds for We Are With You and Endometriosis UK. Now, Joseph is taking on this 200-mile challenge.
He has already raised over £8,000 for both charities. Joseph and Jack became friends through their shared love of music.
Joseph, 39, met Jack in Glasgow when he was 19. He remembers Jack as an incredible guy who did a lot of charity work.
Joseph was shocked by Jack’s death. He wants to honor Jack’s positive impact on people’s lives through this walk.
Joseph plans to start on June 11 and hopes to reach Glastonbury in two weeks. His partner Lucinda will join him at the start.
Joseph said Glasgow loved Jack, and people from all over came to his funeral. Jack’s family shared a heartfelt tribute after his passing.
They expressed their sorrow and requested privacy during this difficult time. Jack was a beloved figure in the electronic music community.
Joseph knows this walk is a big task, but he feels motivated. He trains daily, aiming for 20 miles a day, even in tough weather.
He joked about not having a ticket to the festival but is confident he’ll find a way in. You can support Joseph’s fundraiser online.
