Frome hosts a free drop-in event for parents with children under five, featuring local services and support groups.
The ‘Live for Under 5s’ event is hosted by the Frome Under 5 Network. It will take place at Frome Town Hall on Thursday, February 27, from 10 am to 1 pm.
Families can explore various activities, services, and groups available for young children. Local childcare provider Little Discoveries will set up a safe play area for kids. This way, parents can browse stalls and chat with activity providers.
Several organizations will be present, including Purple Elephant, the Health Visiting team, and Young Somerset 0-5 team. Other groups like Frome Birth Talk and Somerset Early Years Alliance will also join in.
Sue Willis from Purple Elephant says there’s a lot of support for families in Frome. She emphasizes the importance of sharing information about free and low-cost activities. The Under 5 Network aims to improve the lives of children in the area.
Suzy Cristinacce from Frome Birth Talk adds that the event helps parents learn about available resources. Their counseling service is open to anyone pregnant or who has lost a baby in the last two years. It’s a safe space for discussing any concerns.
Melody Hunter Evans from Frome Town Council highlights the collaboration among childcare providers and support organizations. This event is a great way for families to discover what’s available for their young children.
No need to book for the ‘Live for Under 5s’ event. Just drop by anytime between 10 am and 1 pm on February 27. Frome Town Hall is accessible for everyone, including those with mobility equipment, prams, and buggies.
