Freddie Flintoff returns to TV as host of Bullseye while navigating personal challenges and a supportive family life
Altrincham: Freddie Flintoff is making a comeback on our screens this Christmas as the new host of Bullseye. It’s been nearly 30 years since the show aired, and he’s super excited about it.
He shared how he loved the darts and watched Bullseye as a kid. It’s a big deal for him to host this special episode. But it’s been a tough couple of years for Freddie.
After a serious accident while filming Top Gear, he had to step back from the spotlight. He was driving a three-wheeled car at high speed when it flipped over, causing him some nasty injuries.
Freddie ended up with facial scars and broken ribs, and it really took a toll on him mentally. He’s been dealing with anxiety and flashbacks since then. The show had to pause filming, and he received a hefty compensation settlement.
His wife, Rachael, has been his rock through all of this. She rushed to the hospital when he got hurt and has been encouraging him to take it easy and focus on healing.
They’ve been married since 2005 and have four kids together. Rachael runs a successful events company and has a background in modeling. She wasn’t initially drawn to Freddie’s looks but was charmed by his humor.
Freddie has also opened up about another struggle he faced for years—bulimia. He revealed that he developed this eating disorder after being labeled the “fat cricketer” early in his career.
He shared how hard it was to admit he was making himself sick after meals. It’s been a long journey for him, and he’s still working through it. He feels like food is always on his mind, and it’s exhausting.
Despite these challenges, Freddie is looking forward to his new role and the support of his family. It’s a tough road, but he’s determined to keep moving forward.
